On April 8, 2025, Van Duyne expressed concerns over ongoing issues related to drug cartels. "The cartels have been at war with us for many years. With over 200,000 Americans killed by fentanyl poisoning, cartels have killed more of us than any Middle Eastern terrorist organization. President @realDonaldTrump is right to declare war on these murderous organizations!"
