On July 7, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (TX-30), member of the House Oversight Subcommittee on Government Operations and the Federal Workforce, led a letter from 15 Democratic members of the House Oversight Committee to the USPS Postmaster General Louis DeJoy asking for information regarding working conditions that may have contributed to the death of Dallas postal worker Eugene Gates. Mr. Gates, a 40-year veteran of the U.S. Postal Service, collapsed on his route last month while temperatures in North Texas reached as high as 115 degrees.
