WASHINGTON On the 27th day of Pride Month, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (TX-30) introduced a resolution honoring the struggle, sacrifice, contributions of the LGBTQI+ community and the fight for equality in Texas. The resolution is supported by fellow Democratic Texas Reps. Allred, Casar, Castro, Doggett, Escobar, Fletcher, Green, and Jackson-Lee.

"Everything is bigger in Texas - and that includes our pride! Texas is home to 1.8 million members of the LGBTQI+ community—second largest in the country—and some of the nation's first and finest LGBTQI+ advocacy organizations and Pride celebrations," said Rep. Crockett. "Despite the progress Texans have made, anti-LGBTQI+ bigotry remains through discriminatory and draconian laws targeting LGBTQI+ persons—laws which this community continues to fight back against to this day. But Texans are up to the fight: it was Texans that fought all the way to the Supreme Court against 'anti-sodomy laws,' and won. We will keep fighting against current day anti-drag and anti-trans legislation, and we will keep winning these battles until every LGBTQI+ Texan can live and love freely!"

The full text of the resolution can be viewed here.
