DALLAS – The City of Dallas, in its continuous effort to enhance transparency and communication regarding the Employees’ Retirement Fund (ERF) and the Dallas Police and Fire Pensions System (DPFP), announces a new, comprehensive information hub. This initiative, spearheaded by the Ad Hoc Committee on Pensions, is designed to keep Dallas residents, along with pension participants and beneficiaries, fully informed about efforts to address the funding needs of both pension systems.

The new online platform, https://dallas.gov/pensions, is accessible through the City of Dallas' official website dallas.gov. The site offers a user-friendly interface providing up-to-date information, resources, and detailed insights into the work being done to ensure the financial soundness of these vital pension systems.

"This information hub represents our commitment to transparency and our dedication to the financial well-being of our city's public servants,” said Mayor Pro Tem Tennell Atkins, the chair of the Ad Hoc Committee on Pensions. “It's crucial that our residents, as well as those who have devoted their careers to serving Dallas, have direct access to reliable information and updates about the pensions.”

 The website features:

  • Regular updates on the progress and decisions made by the Ad Hoc Committee on Pensions.
  • Comprehensive details about the funding strategies and plans being considered or implemented for the ERF and DPFP.
  • A timeline of key milestones and future goals.
  • Resources and educational materials to help pension participants and beneficiaries understand the complexities of pension funding and management.
  • A dedicated FAQ section addressing common questions.
This information hub is part of a broader initiative to ensure that the City of Dallas remains proactive and responsive in its approach to managing the pensions. The City invites all interested parties to visit this new platform and stay informed about the ongoing efforts to sustain and strengthen these essential pension funds.  For more information, please visit https://dallas.gov/pensions.
