Dallas’ Office of Welcoming Communities and Immigrant Affairs has created the Emma Lazarus Resilience Fund through a partnership with the Open Society Foundations and Community Foundations of Texas, which will help immigrant and refugee families that have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Emma Lazarus Resilience Fund will give $500,000 in aid to these families that are struggling financially due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to a press release from the City of Dallas.
Nonprofits will apply for funds from WCIA and administer them to immigrant and refugee communities in Texas. For a nonprofit to be eligible it needs to have a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt designation and 75% of its population served should be in Dallas County. The nonprofit should already manage programs that provide help to these communities.
Nonprofits can apply for funds at grants@cftexas.org or at 214-750-4216. More information on the fund can be found online. Donations are also accepted here.
