On April 9, 2025, she expressed her views on the firing of Navy Vice Admiral Shoshana Chatfield. Congresswoman Crockett criticized the decision, suggesting it was based not on merit but rather on personal animosity. She shared, "They fired Navy Vice Admiral Shoshana Chatfield—not because she couldn’t do the job, but because she wouldn’t hang up pictures of Trump and Hegseth. This ain’t about merit—it’s about ego."
In another post on the same day, Crockett addressed the situation involving the IRS and the Department of Homeland Security concerning undocumented immigrants. She questioned the narrative that undocumented immigrants do not pay taxes, noting the implications of tax data transfer, and highlighted, "Republicans used to say 'undocumented immigrants don’t pay taxes.' Now the IRS is handing their tax data to DHS… So which is it? Seems like you’d have to pay taxes to even have tax data…"
Jasmine Crockett, an established lawmaker since her tenure in the Texas House of Representatives from 2021 to 2023, transitioned to a role in the U.S. Congress in 2023. Born in St Louis, Missouri in 1981, she is a graduate of Rhodes College with a BA and holds a JD from the University of Houston. Crockett resides in Dallas and continues to serve her constituents actively.
