Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, representing Texas' 30th district, expressed concerns over the confirmation of RFK Jr. as the head of the Department of Health and Human Services. Her series of tweets on February 13, 2025, highlights her apprehensions regarding his controversial views and past actions.

In a tweet posted on February 13, 2025, Congresswoman Crockett stated, "Republican Senators just voted to confirm RFK Jr. to lead the Department of Health and Human Services - a man that believes Black Americans should receive a different vaccine schedule than White Americans." She criticized the decision to appoint someone with such beliefs to a significant health position.

Following this, in another tweet from the same day, she drew parallels between RFK Jr.'s beliefs and historical injustices in medical research. She wrote, "The same kind of lie that RFK Jr. believes and promotes was used to justify medical experiments on Henrietta Lacks, whose cancer cells were taken from her without her consent during a biopsy while she was being treated for cervical cancer in 1951."

Additionally, Congresswoman Crockett referenced an incident involving RFK Jr.'s past activities in Samoa. On February 13, 2025, she tweeted about his visit there in 2019: "In 2019, RFK Jr. visited Samoa to promote baseless lies about the polio vaccine, resulting in a polio outbreak that killed over 80 children. Under RFK Jr.’s HHS, we could see the same devastation here." This statement underscored her fears about potential repercussions under his leadership at HHS.
