On January 30, 2025, Crockett conveyed her deep concern about the situation involving passengers and crew members, stating "This is devastating. I’m praying for the safety of all passengers and crew, and my heart is with the families waiting for news of their loved ones tonight."
Later that day, she criticized former President Donald Trump’s comments linking the tragedy to diversity initiatives. In a tweet posted on January 30, 2025, she wrote "THIS IS A BLATANT LIE AND A DISGRACE TO THE MEMORIES OF THE VICTIMS. While emergency responders are still recovering peoples' loved ones from the freezing water, Trump is using these families' pain for POLITICS by blaming their deaths on DEI. A total failure of leadership."
In another post on January 30, 2025, Crockett pointed out administrative issues concerning federal aviation leadership changes. She noted "Also on January 20, Elon Musk pushed out the Chief of the Federal Aviation Administration. Trump didn’t appoint an acting replacement until after last night’s crash."
