Rep. Marc Veasey, representing Texas's 33rd District in the U.S. Congress since 2013, expressed his opposition to the current National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) through a series of tweets. Veasey, who has a history of bipartisan work on military resources, conveyed his concerns about the politicization of the NDAA and its implications for national security.

On December 11, 2024, Rep. Veasey stated his decision to vote against the NDAA in a tweet: "1/ Today, I voted NO on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). In years past, I’ve worked in a bipartisan way to ensure our military has the resources it needs while also supporting our servicemembers. But today’s NDAA has been politicized. #NDAA #Military".

Further elaborating on his stance on December 11, 2024, he remarked: "2/ Since President Truman integrated our military, we’ve prided ourselves on a military that welcomes everyone. But today, the NDAA is being used as a vehicle for the so-called 'culture war,' and that undermines our national security. #SupportOurTroops".

In another post on December 11, 2024, Rep. Veasey criticized the current version of the bill: "5/ Democrats worked across the aisle to create an NDAA that would support both our servicemembers and national security. The bill on the floor today failed on both counts. #Bipartisanship".
