Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, representing Texas’ 30th district, recently shared her thoughts on several pressing issues through a series of tweets. Crockett, who succeeded Eddie Bernice Johnson in 2023 and previously served in the Texas House of Representatives, has been vocal about matters concerning justice and constitutional rights.
On December 10, 2024, Congresswoman Crockett expressed her concerns regarding a recent incident involving violence against Black Americans. She stated: "This is more than a miscarriage of justice - it is a green light for more violence against unarmed Black Americans."
In another tweet on the same day, Crockett commented on the case of Jordan Neely, emphasizing the need for support rather than punitive measures. She wrote: "Jordan Neely was unarmed. He needed support and care. Instead, he received a death sentence. His family grieves while the man who took his life walks free."
Later that day, she addressed potential threats to constitutional amendments that protect citizenship rights. In her tweet, she remarked: "The 14th Amendment granted citizenship for those born or naturalized in the U.S. - including the formerly enslaved. Chipping away at the 14th is a threat to ALL - immigrant families, naturalized citizens, and millions of descendants of those held in the bonds of slavery."
