The Colorado State University Pueblo women's lacrosse team (0-4) fell at No. 11 Regis University 20-2 Wednesday evening.
The ThunderWolves had their work cut-out for them, as the undefeated Rangers have not dropped a home match since April 15, 2018. The high-powered Rangers' offense came out firing quickly and put CSU Pueblo in a quick 5-0 hole five minutes into the contest.
When the horn sounded for the first quarter's end, the Pack saw themselves in an 8-0 deficit.
The ThunderWolves tried to turn the tide early in the second quarter when Emily Eller was able to sling in the Pack's first goal of the evening with 13:21 still on the clock in the second quarter. After two Regis goals, Caira Lessick found the back of the net with a goal of her own off the assist from Baylee Mee.
The two quick goals by the Pack were not enough to shift the momentum of the game and trailed at the break 13-2.
Unfortunately for the Pack, the Rangers back line refused to yield an inch the rest of the game. Only two shots were shot by the ThunderWolves for the remainder of the game and Regis continued to score.
CSU Pueblo ultimately fell 20-2 to the No. 11 Rangers. Ashley Hendricks and Eller each tallied two shots apiece while Sedona Sargent, Lessick and Mee accounted for the other three shots fired off in the match.
The Pack look to bounce back Friday evening when the team will host McKendree University at 4 p.m. at Art and Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.
