THE RUNDOWN
DBU rolled past UT Tyler 75-60 on Tuesday night. The 15 point win is DBU's (12-6, 5-1 LSC) sixth in a row and third straight by double figures. A 9-0 run to close the first half erased a four-point deficit and sparked the win over UTT (11-5, 3-4 LSC) in DBU's first-ever trip to the Louise Herrington Patriot Center.
Cameron Kahn (19 points, three steals) continued his dominance on both ends of the court, and Julian Miranda (17 points, five assists) was the playmaking catalyst. The Patriots shot 50% from the floor for the fourth game in a row and took advantage of a UTT squad that was without the services of Da'Zhon Wyche (10 points, 19 minutes) and Micah Fuller (seven points, 20 minutes) for much of the contest. The Patriots of DBU limited the Patriots of UTT to 41% shooting and just 24 points in the second half.
The first half was a back-and-forth affair that featured nine lead changes. Julian Miranda and Austin Garner (12 points) forced a trio of turnovers with 73 seconds remaining that sparked a 9-0 run and sent the offense into hyperdrive for the rest of the game. A Miranda euro step followed by a 3-pointer capped a 5-0 run for the veteran guard and carried the Patriots into the break with a 41-36 lead and plenty of momentum.
The literal tipping point occurred at the 14:00 minute mark in the second half when a fastbreak dunk from Kahn brought down the goal and sent the DBU bench into a thunderous cheer. Miranda and Ricky Lujan (13 points, four assists) then piloted the Patriots to a lead as high as 24 points, while Carson Hughes (seven points, team-high six rebounds) helped DBU win on the boards.

COACH BLAKE FLICKNER ON THE WIN
"What a game. Our guys really competed today and executed the game plan. They really put it on us back in December, and we were well aware of how good Tyler can be. They play with incredible intensity and toughness. We didn't match that in our first meeting, but tonight, we exceeded them. I'm really proud of our team effort. Jules [Julian Miranda] was a magician tonight and Cam [Cameron Kahn] continued his strong play. We took better care of the ball this time around and were much better defensively."
