The Courses at Watters Creek adds GPS-enabled touch screens to golf carts

8

City of Alen TX issued the following announcement on Dec. 23

GPS-enabled golf carts are the latest perk for players at The Courses at Watters Creek, the 33-hole golf course owned and operated by the City of Allen Parks & Recreation Department.

Touch screens in each of the facility’s 100 carts allow players to view course layout, monitor pace of play, view accurate yardages from tee to green and even keep score digitally. The EZ-GO TFM system can send messages to players related to weather updates and food and beverage deals and integrates with Golf Genius software to provide real-time leaderboards for golf tournaments.

The EZ-GO system also helps staff analyze the workload balance on each cart and helps monitor battery use.

The opportunity to install GPS came about because of community vested sponsors like Credit Union of Texas. The system will allow City of Allen Parks & Recreation and The Courses at Watters Creek to assist additional sponsors with advertising which in turn will generate more revenue for the City of Allen.

Players can check out the new GPS-enabled carts during their next visit to The Courses at Watters Creek. Book a tee time at WattersCreekGolf.com.
