The Metroplex Civic Association, whose goal is to bring local businesses and charities together to maximize their common goals and help the community thrive, hopes to make a difference in Dallas.

Louis Darrouzet, CEO of MCA, told Dallas City Wire he took the position because giving back is vitally important to him and gives him satisfaction.

"Since I was in college, I coached tumbling, gymnastics and acrobatics in the evenings to middle school, high school and collegiate athletes," Darrouzet said. "Educating, coaching, and giving back have always been an important part of who I am, but empowering my students and employees to learn and grow by themselves provides me the most satisfaction as a leader."

The position at MCA will continue to allow him to do what he has in the past.

"This role is incredibly exciting to me as our mission to educate, empower and mobilize the Metroplex’s diverse business community to increase their charitable and civic participation, is now more vital than ever," Darrouzet said.

Darrouzet said helping companies and their employees to maximize their potential to give back will have a huge impact on the community.

"Helping organizations provide pathways to their employees to share not only their resources but their time, talents and voices is critical," he said. "I believe we all need to play an active role in our communities and MCA will help change the narrative on how businesses can and should engage their employees and the Metroplex."

The objective of MCA is to partner with local businesses and charities "to streamline and maximize the work they achieve together."

"By helping the business community encourage and empower their employee base to participate in community service activities more frequently, we can support local charities in a stronger and more efficient manner," Darrouzet said. "Additionally, having a higher and consistent turnout allows these charities to accomplish so much more and only helps the Metroplex become more abundant, vibrant and inclusive."

The CEO said MCA plans to help the Dallas region grow by assisting businesses in playing a more active role in supporting community needs, adding, "With the help of local businesses and charities, we can build a clean and safe community, reduce poverty, homelessness and crime, and create more opportunities for everyone throughout the Metroplex. A thriving city is good for business and will serve as a magnet for other organizations looking for a place to call home."

Darrouzet is a husband, father, businessman, entrepreneur, engineer and operator. He is a Dallas native and attended Jesuit College Preparatory School, where he received the Man for Others honor in 2001. He obtained his bachelor's degree in chemical and bio-molecular engineering at the Georgia Tech while attending college on a cheerleading scholarship.

Over the next seven years, Darrouzet gained experience as a leader in the engineering and operations until he earned his MBA from Southern Methodist University in 2013. After being recruited into a venture capital startup, he eventually transitioned into a corporate sales role at Keurig Dr Pepper, developing and managing a $250 million-plus client portfolio. Darrouzet is also the founder and CEO of Skillective, a web-based platform for instructors and their clients to find, schedule and book either in-person or virtual lessons.
