Graduates earn 640 degrees, certificates from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center

About 56.7 percent of the 640 degrees and certificates handed out by the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Dallas conferred 274 doctor's degrees and 85 master's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a doctor's degree in medicine. Data shows the school gave out 238 doctor's degrees in medicine, followed by 194 certificates in molecular biophysics and 42 master's degrees in physician assistant.

The university enrolled 2,266 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in 2266 programs.
