Marc Veasey, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas's 33rd District since 2013, has been vocal on social media about public health issues. On March 20, 2025, he addressed concerns regarding the appointment of RFK Jr. as head of Health and Human Services (HHS) and ongoing measles outbreaks in Texas.

In a tweet posted on March 20, 2025, Veasey criticized RFK Jr., now leading HHS, for his stance on vaccines. "But you know who doesn’t want you to believe that? RFK Jr.—the guy now running HHS," Veasey wrote. He expressed concern over RFK Jr.'s continued promotion of "natural immunity" over vaccination, calling it "a death sentence."

Veasey also highlighted the escalating measles outbreak in Texas in another tweet on the same day. "Texas, the #measles outbreak is surging," he stated. Since January, there have been 279 cases primarily affecting children in the South Plains and Panhandle regions, with one child succumbing to the disease.

Additionally, Veasey elaborated on the severity of measles in collaboration with @TexasDSHS through another tweet shared that day. "Measles isn’t just a rash," he explained while warning about its highly contagious nature and potential complications such as pneumonia and brain damage.
