Rep. Marc Veasey, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas's 33rd District, has recently taken to social media to express his views on various legislative issues. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, in 1971 and an alumnus of Texas Wesleyan University, Veasey has been vocal about government funding and budget cuts.

On March 13, 2025, Rep. Veasey tweeted about the unity among House Democrats regarding a funding extension proposal. He stated that they stand together for "a four-week funding extension that stops harmful cuts, keeps the government open," and facilitates a bipartisan agreement. Veasey expressed his readiness to vote at any time to pass this extension "House Democrats stand united for a four-week funding extension that stops harmful cuts...".

Later that day, Veasey addressed proposed cuts to Medicaid and Social Security in another tweet. He criticized attempts to reduce spending by over $880 billion from these programs "You're trying to cut over $880 billion from Medicaid and Social Security.".

In another post on the same day, Rep. Veasey recalled an incident involving changes to a Continuing Resolution due to external influence from Elon Musk via Twitter. He pointed out current efforts aimed at cutting $13 billion from critical domestic programs without having an established budget "Remember in December when you changed an agreed upon Continuing Resolution b/c Musk threw a fit...".
