On January 31, 2025, Congresswoman Van Duyne announced that Westlake resident Joe DePinto was named this week’s "#TX24 Hometown Hero." She praised DePinto for his service to others through business and community engagement and congratulated him on receiving the Sam Johnson Defender of Freedom Award. Later that day, Van Duyne discussed legislative achievements in Congress aimed at advancing former President Trump’s agenda. She emphasized a commitment to securing borders and supporting working families through strong legislation passed by the House GOP. The proposed bill seeks to repeal the 45Z tax credit associated with what she referred to as "Democrats’ Green New Deal scam."
