Later the same day, she acknowledged the contributions of an intern named Adarryl, who is a veteran with ten years of service to the country. In her tweet, she expressed gratitude: "Thank you to Adarryl, a veteran who spent 10 years serving our country, for his excellent work as an intern in our D.C. office this semester! We’re looking forward to having him in our district office next semester."

On November 27, 2024, Van Duyne paid tribute to Sergeant Larry Kellogg from Coppell for his service in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. She mentioned presenting him with a Vietnam Lapel Pin: "Sergeant Larry Kellogg, resident of Coppell, served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1968.
