Enrollment Analysis: Pacific Islander students comprised 0.3% of Legacy Preparatory School District's student body in 2022-23 school year

There were four Pacific Islander students enrolled in Legacy Preparatory School District in the 2022-23 school year, 33.3% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Legacy Preparatory School District welcomed 1,383 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Pacific Islander students comprised 0.3% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Legacy Preparatory School District roughly covers schools within Dallas County and has a main office in Richardson.

Among the two schools in Legacy Preparatory School District, Legacy Prep Charter Academy Mesquite West Campus recorded the highest enrollment of Pacific Islander students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of three students.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
