There were 190 African American students enrolled in Ume Preparatory Academy School District in the 2022-23 school year, 8.6% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Ume Preparatory Academy School District welcomed 1,493 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, African American students comprised 12.7% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Ume Preparatory Academy School District roughly covers schools within Dallas County and has a main office in Dallas.

Among the three schools in Ume Preparatory Academy School District, Ume Preparatory Academy - Duncanville recorded the highest enrollment of African American students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 52 students.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.
