There were 53 African American students enrolled in A+ Academy School District in the 2022-23 school year, 3.9% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that A+ Academy School District welcomed 1,588 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, African American students comprised 3.3% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

A+ Academy School District roughly covers schools within Dallas County and has a main office in Dallas.

Among the two schools in A+ Academy School District, A+ Academy Elementary recorded the highest enrollment of African American students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 33 students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
