Enrollment Analysis: Hispanic students comprised 74.4% of Lumin Education School District's student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 166 Hispanic students enrolled in Lumin Education School District in the 2022-23 school year, 9.8% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Lumin Education School District welcomed 223 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 74.4% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Lumin Education School District roughly covers schools within Dallas County and has a main office in Dallas.

Lumin Lindsley Park Community School was the only school in the district which enrolled Hispanic students, welcoming 166 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
