Enrollment at Ume Preparatory Academy increased by 9.4% compared to previous school year

There were 1,493 students enrolled in Ume Preparatory Academy in the 2022-23 school year, 9.4% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.4% of them were girls, and 49.6% were boys.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 52.6% of the Ume Preparatory Academy total enrollment.

Ume Preparatory Academy roughly covers schools within Dallas County with its main office in Dallas.

Among the four schools in Ume Preparatory Academy, recorded the highest enrollment of 596 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
