Michelle Young is the co-founder and CEO of Legacy Plumbing, which was recently acquired by ACE Hardware. In a recent interview, Young said that she and her husband, Theron, began Legacy Plumbing in 2006.

Young told Dallas City Wire that Legacy was founded based on her husband’s dream of starting his own business. “He was tired of working for individuals who really didn’t give quality service and who had sneaky foot-in-the-door tactics and were just really painting a bad image of what a plumber was," Young said. "So he wanted to create something different. In 2006, he went out on his own, but he had no money. He literally walked door to door in our neighborhood in Plano, Texas, in the middle of the summer, handing out flyers to our neighbors. We had no capital but a huge dream to create something that revolutionized the industry.”

In the interview, Young said that since the company’s core services have remained the same since its founding. “We are a full-service residential and light commercial plumbing company, and our primary focus is on restoring, renovating, and repairing all the plumbing that’s inside your house or your light commercial business,” Young told Dallas City Wire.

According to the company website, Legacy Plumbing is a full-service company committed to providing service with integrity to residents of Denton, Collin, and Dallas County. The company is engaged in residential and light commercial plumbing and employs licensed plumbing technicians that can handle problems of any size with efficiency and expertise.

North Texas News reported that Ace Hardware acquired Legacy Plumbing in August. The acquisition seeks to leverage the services that both Ace and Legacy are known for. According to the report, the Youngs will continue to oversee the business, which will benefit from Ace's experience and have access to a wider array of products at more cost-effective prices.
