Enrollment at Academy of Dallas decreased by 28.2% compared to previous school year

There were 245 students enrolled in Academy of Dallas in the 2021-22 school year, 28.2% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 53.5% of them were girls, and 46.5% were boys.

Data also shows that the majority of students were African American, representing 78.8% of the Academy of Dallas total enrollment.

Academy of Dallas roughly covers schools within Dallas County with its main office in Dallas.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
