Faculty Spotlight: Gayle Randall

Why did you choose to work at ASU?

My decision to work at Angelo State stems from my experiences here as a student. When I first came to ASU as an undergrad, I never knew how my life would change forever through the interactions with my professors, coaches, friends and administrators. These fond memories are embedded deep in my heart and have made me who I am.

I am forever grateful for the opportunities that were given to me as a student and now, as a faculty member, I can make that same difference in the life of someone else. Every day that I walk onto campus or step into the classroom or meet with a student, my hope is that I can make someone come alive, just as others did for me years ago. I am blessed to fill my days at Angelo State where we all work together to make an impact in this exceptional university that will always be my HOME.

Where is your favorite place on campus and why?

There are many favorite places on campus - from the track where I ran every day as a Rambelle to the Rassman Building where I teach and seek to make an impact in the lives of others. The campus has grown so much that I also would include Stephens Chapel and the ASU Mayer Museum and likely, the Housley Tower coming up in the near future!

What has been one of your most memorable experiences since coming to ASU?

One of the most memorable experiences that I’ve had on campus was becoming the advisor for the Angelo State chapter of Delta Sigma Pi Professional Business Fraternity. I was a Deltasig as an undergrad and I can remember how honored I was to become the chapter advisor after being an initiate years ago. That was a meaningful experience and it keeps on growing year after year as serve in this role.

What would you say to prospective students who are considering attending ASU?

Angelo State is easily suited for the undergraduate that wants it all; an academic challenge, an enjoyable collegiate experience and memories that last a lifetime. ASU offers amazing opportunities to get involved, make new friends and participate in events on campus.

The faculty here are student-focused, supportive and knowledgeable, and they truly work to make the learning experience one that is positive, yet rigorous, for all students. You can fulfill your potential here and be certain that when you walk the stage at graduation, there are no regrets - because you chose Angelo State University.
