Dallas Baptist University Athletics issued the following announcement on Jan. 15

DBU cruised to an 82-69 win over Angelo State Saturday at the Junell Center. Carson Hughes and Cameron Kahn scored 22 points apiece as the Patriots drained 12 3-pointers to hand the Rams (11-4, 1-2 LSC) their first home loss. DBU (10-6, 4-1 LSC) led ASU the entire second half en route to its fourth straight win.

Carson Hughes (22 points, 4-of-7 from three) ignited the 3-point barrage with an early deep ball. Julian Miranda (11 points) responded with a trio of triples as 21 points from behind the arc helped the Patriots take control in the first half. A career-high three 3-pointers from Cameron Kahn (22 points, 7-of-11 shooting) increased the downpour and overwhelmed a Rams squad that struggled against the Patriots' defense. DBU held Angelo State to 24% shooting through the first 20 minutes and kept the Rams in check until midway through the second half.

Paul Williams (20 points) and Lathaniel Bastian (17 points) combined for 25 points in the second half and helped ASU trim the deficit to nine. But 14 second-half points from Hughes helped the Patriots overcome the Rams and 17 turnovers.
