The Junior League of Dallas has established a tradition to provide funding for Dallas ISD programs and 2020 has proven to be no different.

With its presenting sponsor Texas Instruments, the Junior League of Dallas presented 40 district educators with grants up to $2,500 through Grants for Innovative Teaching during a virtual presentation that Dallas ISD reported. A total of $85,000 will be distributed, making $1.9 million awarded by the Junior League of Dallas since 1992.

The grants fund projects that address areas such as reading and literacy enrichment; diversity; special education; science, technology, engineering and math (STEM); and cultural enrichment. Awards are not limited to a certain grade.

Projects receiving grants in the district run the gamut from basketball recycling to Rigor with Robots and Kids Helping Kids. Other sponsors helping Dallas ISD move forward with the projects include the Hillcrest Foundation, Bank of America, and the Agnes Cluthe Oliver Foundation.
