U.S. Representative Julie Johnson will present a ceremonial check to the City of Dallas on May 4, recognizing $5.15 million in Community Project Funding awards that will support several projects across the city.
The funding aims to improve infrastructure, safety, and parks for Dallas residents by allocating federal resources secured through the Fiscal Year 2026 appropriations process.
According to the announcement, funded projects include Ferguson Road Safety Enhancements with $850,000 for Council Districts 2, 7, and 9; International District Park Development with $2 million for Council District 11; White Rock Lake Trail Relocation with $1.2 million for Council District 9; Hemlock Avenue Safe Streets Enhancements with $850,000 for Council District 13; and Lakewood Park Pedestrian Bridge & Accessibility Improvements with $250,000 also for Council District 9.
The presentation event is scheduled at Dallas City Hall’s Flag Room on the sixth floor at 1500 Marilla Street in Dallas at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 5. Members of the City Council are expected to join Representative Johnson during this event.
This allocation is part of ongoing efforts by federal and local officials to address community needs through targeted investments in public spaces and safety enhancements.
