Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office arrested Daniel Ramos, a 24-year-old man, on two counts of sexual assault of a child and placed him under an ICE hold with no bond in Tom Green County.
According to the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office inmate roster, Ramos was booked on December 23, 2025, at 2:53 PM for charges including “11990002 *GOB*SEXUAL ASSAULT CHILD CT 1 and CT 2.” The arresting agency was the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office, and he is held without bond. An additional miscellaneous ICE hold is in place, reflecting enforcement of immigration policies alongside criminal charges.
The Texas Attorney General reported that in 2024 there were 2,039 compensation applications related to sexual abuse of a child. These accounted for 8.49 percent of total crime victim applications statewide. Payments for these cases totaled over one million dollars, highlighting the prevalence of such offenses in Texas. Assault and aggravated assault made up nearly half of all applications, showing a broad range of violent crimes addressed by state services.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported that at least one in four girls and one in 20 boys in the United States experience child sexual abuse. Approximately 90 percent of such abuse is committed by individuals known and trusted by the child or family. The economic burden of child sexual abuse nationwide was estimated at $9.3 billion in 2015, underscoring the long-term costs to society.
