Rep. Marc Veasey, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas's 33rd District since 2013, recently took to social media to express his concerns regarding public health and vaccination misinformation. In a series of tweets, Veasey emphasized the importance of vaccinations in preventing disease outbreaks.

On March 20, 2025, Rep. Veasey tweeted about the ongoing outbreak and its impact on unvaccinated individuals: "Over 99% of cases in this outbreak have been in unvaccinated people. This isn’t a mystery. It’s simple: The MMR vaccine is effective. It’s safe. It’s been around for decades. And it saves lives."

Continuing his commentary on the same day, Veasey criticized Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who he mentioned is now leading the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). He stated: "But you know who doesn’t want you to believe that? RFK Jr. The guy now running HHS. For years, he’s pushed dangerous lies about vaccines. Now, he’s in charge of public health and STILL telling people 'natural immunity' is better. That’s a death sentence."

In another tweet posted shortly after, Veasey addressed misconceptions about alternative remedies for measles prevention: "Let’s be clear: Vitamin A & cod liver oil will NOT protect you from measles. The only way to prevent this disease is getting vaccinated. If you or your child aren’t protected, now is the time."
