Jasmine Crockett, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 30th district, has recently shared several statements on social media addressing issues related to food insecurity and healthcare in Texas. Having succeeded Eddie Bernice Johnson in 2023, Crockett has been vocal about challenges faced by her constituents.
On March 10, 2025, Congresswoman Crockett highlighted the severe issue of food insecurity in Texas through her social media platform. She stated that "Texas has the SECOND HIGHEST rate of food insecurity in the country and is 4.5% higher than the national average."
Following this, on March 11, 2025, she criticized certain political figures and their approach to budgeting for American families. In her words: "Instead of calling out Dems, MAGA Mike and HIS Republican colleagues need to focus on creating budget that ACTUALLY helps working American families. NOT taking food off of their tables and roofs over their heads."
Later that day, Congresswoman Crockett expressed concern regarding healthcare costs under proposed budget plans. She mentioned that "In TX-30, 93,000 people who receive coverage under the Affordable Care Act will see their average premium go up by $440 per year under the Republican & @HouseGOP budget plan. This is NOT okay!!!"
