Rep. Marc Veasey, a long-serving U.S. Congressman representing Texas's 33rd District, recently shared his views on social media regarding various pressing issues. His comments touched upon the safety of children in schools and concerns about government grant funding.

On January 27, 2025, Rep. Veasey expressed concern over an incident at North Side High School, stating: "Children should feel safe and supported at school—not targeted by the very educators meant to guide them. This alarming situation at North Side High is a reminder of the work we must do to protect every child, no matter where they come from."

On January 28, 2025, he addressed the issue of government grants, highlighting their importance in providing essential services and goods. He criticized any halt in grant funding as both unlawful and cruel during challenging times: "Gov't grants help provide millions with the essential services & goods they rely on. Halting grant funding when so many are already struggling isn’t just unlawful—it’s cruel." He further commented on President Trump's promises regarding grocery costs: "We were promised by Pres Trump lower grocery costs, not cuts to the services."

Later that day, Rep. Veasey took a stronger stance against President Trump's actions concerning fund freezing: "Trump's action to illegally freeze funds is straight up bullshit. He is using your healthcare, education, and veterans' care as collateral damage to score 'TV points.' Want to lower costs & keep your campaign promises? Stop with the BS distractions & work w/Congress."
