On January 27, 2025, Congresswoman Van Duyne expressed concerns over the Internal Revenue Service's handling of identity theft cases. She stated that "The IRS is taking FIVE times as long to resolve identity theft cases." Van Duyne attributed these delays to work-from-home policies within the federal government, which she believes contribute to inefficiency and wasted taxpayer dollars.
