There were 1,764 Asian students enrolled in Dallas ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 0.6% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Dallas ISD schools welcomed 141,169 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Asian students comprised 1.2% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Dallas ISD roughly covers schools within Dallas County and has a main office in Dallas.

Among the 237 schools in Dallas ISD schools, Lee A. McShan, Jr. Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of Asian students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 235 students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
