Women's Track & Field Places League-High Four on LSC All-Academic Team

The DBU Women's Track & Field team placed a league-high four student athletes on this year's LSC All-Academic Team as Madison Brown, Rylee Cristan, Meadow Housman, and Emme O'Donnell were each tabbed to the distinguished team. The LSC All-Academic Team was voted on by the league's sports information directors and consists of 11 student athletes recognized for the achievements in track and field and in the classroom. 

Brown ranks as one of the top long distance runners in the nation. The junior from Round Rock, Texas, will compete in both the 3,000 and 5,000 meters at the NCAA Division II National Championships this weekend. She was also a member of the distance medley relay team that won a conference title. In the classroom, Brown has compiled 3.78 grade point average as a Biology major.

Cristan is a three-time LSC Indoor Track & Field All-Academic Team selection. The senior Education major from Keller, Texas, boasts a 3.95 GPA. At this year's LSC Track & Field Indoor Championships, Cristan placed 10th in the 3,000.

Both Housman and O'Donnell earned All-Academic Team honors for the first time in their young careers. Housman, a sophomore from New Caney, Texas, finished seventh at the LSC Indoor Championships in the 60 meter hurdles and carries a 4.00 GPA as a Interdisciplinary Studies major. O'Donnell is a sophomore Biology major from Port Lavaca, Texas. At the LSC Championships, she was part of a team that won the distance medley relay and placed seventh in both the mile and 3,000.
