After placing second at the Lone Star Conference Championships, DBU's Adam Whitehead, Jeb Williamson, and Noah Metzger were each honored with All-Conference selections. Whitehead and Metzger are first time recipients, placing seventh and 11th on the day respectively. Williamson was the sole DBU representative on the All-Conference team last year, finishing 10th overall in this year's meet.
Whitehead's Saturday performance was certainly worthy of All-Conference consideration, running no further back than sveventh place for the entirety of the race. Crossing the line at 25:16.7, the Gilbert, Arizona, native led the DBU scoring for the first time this year. His placement was crucial for DBU's best team finish in program history since moving to the Lone Star Conference. Williamson was across the line next, running his 8k in 25:27.3, followed closely by Metzger at 25:31.8.
Their placements at the LSC Championships were crucial to edging out a second-place finish, something they will need to replicate on the biggest stage of the season to have a chance at racing in the NCAA Division II XC National Championships. The boys will be back on the course to take on some of the best programs in the nation at the South Central Regional Championships on November 19 in Denver, Colorado.
