This past Saturday, October 8, the AT&T Performing Arts Center and The New Orleans Original BuckShop put on an EXTRAORDINARY community event that included live Jazz, Latin Jazz, New Orleans Brass, Black Mardi Gras Indians, Afro-Brazilian Martial Arts, Louisiana cuisine, family art activities and a New Orleans Second Line ALL FOR FREE! It was all part of the Center’s community engagement program – ArtsBridge – Powered by Toyota.
Brass and Jazz in the Park garnered around 2,000 guests for this family friendly event in Jaycee Zaragoza Park, connecting the West Dallas community with a multitude of art forms, vendors, foods, and more!
Over several months of planning and curating with The New Orleans Original BuckShop was able to put on live performances by Michelle N. Gibson, our New Orleans Grand Marshall, Ngangulero Cajon, Booker T. Washington HSPVA Fusion Jazz Experiment, the Thaddeus Ford Band, S-Ankh Rasa & Mo’ Music, The Big Easy Brass Band, and Alejandro Perez Jr. & Os Malandros de Mestre Touro.
