The Colorado State University Pueblo women's soccer team were unable to overcome an early deficit against a tough Colorado Mesa team, as the Pack fell 4-1 at CMU's Community Hospital Unity Field.
The lone goal for the Pack came off the foot of Amanda Garrett who was able to notch her first goal on the season during the 51st minute.
The scoring for the Mavericks began 1:43 into the game and they did not let up, as they scored all of their goals within the first 22 minutes of the game. Following the scoring barrage, a change at goalkeeper helped to keep Mesa scoreless for the remaining 67 minutes of action.
In the match, CSU Pueblo managed seven shots and three landing on frame against 25 total shots and eleven shots on goal.
Shortly into the second half, Katie Bean fed a pass in to Garrett who then slammed a shot through the top-center.
Both team's offenses were held scoreless for the remainder of the game.
CSU Pueblo (2-7, 1-2 RMAC) will head to Salt Lake City on Sunday afternoon to face off with another tough opponent in (RV) Westminster at noon at Dumke Field.
