TWU SOCCER HOSTS HOME OPENER AGAINST OBU

The Texas Woman's soccer team kicks off for the first time of the 2022 season at Pioneer Soccer Park on Thursday, Sept. 1.

TWU (0-1-1) returns home to Pioneer Soccer Park after beginning their season on the road in Colorado. In their first two games of 2022, the Pioneers recorded a loss to Colorado School of Mines and a tie to Regis University.

On Thursday, Sept.1, TWU will play Oklahoma Baptist University in a nonconference match-up. OBU (0-2) also began their season on the road, losing to Washburn University and University of Central Missouri.

The Pioneers will look to notch their first win of the season on their home field on Thursday night.

PROTECT THE PARK

  • CHECK THE HISTORY: The Pioneers and the Bison have met four times. In their last meeting, TWU secured the victory 1-0 at OBU. The meeting on Thursday will act as a tiebreaker for these two teams, as each side hold two victories over the previous four meetings.
  • GOOOOOAAAALLL!: Dylann Vollaro holds the Pioneers lone goal of 2022 so far. Vollaro scored against Regis University, which marked her first career goal. Bri Luna assisted Vollaro's goal, which was her first career assist.
  • OPEN OPPORTUNITIES: In their first two games, OBU allowed a combined four goals. The Pioneers will need to take advantage of their shots on goal to connect for the win.
