Dallas-based Oil, Gas and Coal company Texas Pacific Land Corp. (TPL:NYQ) sees value fall 62.7% in week ending Aug. 6

Value in Oil, Gas and Coal stocks fell 3.9 percent in the week ending Aug. 6 from the previous week.

The strongest performing Oil, Gas and Coal company in Texas was Tetra Technologies Inc. (TTI:NYQ), sitting 437,533 percent higher to sell at $3.65.

Energy Transfer LP (ET:NYQ) fared the worst among Texas companies, suffering a 100 percent drop to $11.25.

Among Dallas companies, Sunoco LP (SUN:NYQ) saw the highest rise in value of 74,021.9 percent in the week ending Aug. 6.

The Medical Equipment and Services industry was the week’s best-performing industry on the market. The market is divided into 41 different industries.

Oil, Gas and Coal was the worst-performing industry.

Healthcare and technology stocks are viewed as the safest bets for long-term gains.

Besty Kuekcer with Benzinga.com said healthcare-related stocks, such as hospital conglomerates and insurance companies, have weathered numerous economic crises and still make a profit, suggesting that they are generally a stable investment.

While technology stocks can be more risky, given the boom-bust nature of new tech companies, Kuecker recommended a diverse portfolio of tech companies to strike it big when companies succeed or sell to other larger companies.

For short-term investments, Kuecker recommended “consumer discretionary” stocks, which are sensitive to economic changes but can rise greatly on the back of a strong economy.
