Texas Woman's University head softball coach Gay McNutt announced Friday that Bri Sims will serve as the Pioneers' new assistant softball coach.
Sims spent the last season as the assistant softball coach alongside McNutt at Texas A&M-Commerce, helping lead the Lions to a 43-15 overall record, including a 22-8 mark in conference play, and a Lone Star Conference tournament title. She had previously served as a graduate assistant on the Lions' staff.
A native of Rowlett, Sims began her coaching career after a successful four-year collegiate career, playing her first two seasons and earning first team all-Western Athletic Conference honors at UMKC before concluding her playing career in 2019 at TAMUC, where she won second team all-Lone Star Conference honors. She played in 104 games with 96 starts in her two-year career at TAMUC, finishing her career ranked second in program history in putouts, third in home runs, and fifth in RBIs.
