Chamberlain University issued the following announcement on March 1
Chamberlain University is pleased to announce the opening of a new campus in Irwindale, California. This is Chamberlain’s second campus in California, and 23rd campus nationwide.
The Irwindale campus is located in Los Angeles County at 4910 Rivergrade Road, and will offer an on-site Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program that is equipped with Chamberlain’s SIMCARE CENTER™, which provides state of the art simulated patient care training in clinical learning environments, as well as a Center for Academic Success that delivers comprehensive academic resources and support.
By opening a location in Irwindale, Chamberlain University is answering a much-needed call for nurses throughout the state of California. According to a published study, California is projected to experience a deficit of 141,348 nurses by the year 2030.
The campus is now accepting applications for admission to spring semester classes, starting May 3, 2021. Open Houses for prospective students will be held on the following dates:
- Thursday, March 11, 2021 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm PT
- Thursday, March 25, 2021 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm PT
The Irwindale campus will be presided by Diane J. Morey, PhD, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, CNE. She brings 40 years of academic, administrative and clinical experience to her role as Campus President. Prior to joining Chamberlain, Dr. Morey held a range of leadership and academic positions, most recently serving as campus dean of nursing at West Coast University.
“Providing access to BSN nursing education in California is such a meaningful effort, especially since COVID has highlighted the need for more nurses. Chamberlain is in a unique position to tap into a nationwide network of students, alumni, faculty and resources to bring a high-quality program to the area, so I’m thrilled to be part of opening this new campus!”
