Corpus Christi metro lag behind San Francisco-Oakland-Hayward in 2019

The Corpus Christi metro area exported $26.8 billion in 2019, less than exports from San Francisco-Oakland-Hayward in 2019, according to the International Trade Administration.

A study from the Brookings Institute found competition between areas within the United States increases exports, which in turn generates stronger sales and more jobs for American workers.

The Corpus Christi metro area consists of two counties.

The San Francisco-Oakland-Hayward metro area comprises five counties exporting $28 billion in 2019.

The metro area with the most exports was Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land with $129.7 billion exported.
