Denton Guyer’s Kyndal Stowers, one of the top volleyball players in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, selected Baylor as the next destination for her academic and athletic careers.
Stowers, who has lettered for the Lady Wildcats since her freshman year, will join a program that has strung together a team-best four consecutive NCAA tournament appearances under sixth-year head coach Ryan McGuyre.
Her pledge to the Lady Bears comes after she secured a national championship with her club team, Texas Advantage.
“Congrats to #TAV athlete Kyndal Stowers (Guyer HS) on her commitment to Baylor! #GoTAV,” the TAV Twitter account posted on July 13.
Denton Record Chronicle sportswriter Reece Waddell tweeted that Stowers, who’ll be entering her junior year, registered a combined 579 kills in a span of two seasons to establish herself as a top offensive threat in the area.
All eyes will be on the star outside hitter as she assumes the elder stateswoman role for Guyer.
The Lady Wildcats look to build on last year’s regional semifinal appearance.
