Cost of college was unchanged for all students at El Centro College

In-state tuition and fees were unchanged for 2018-19 at El Centro College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Texas residents paid $3,330 to attend the two-year public institution in both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic years.

Non-residents paid 56.8 percent more than residents this year, or $5,220. Their price tag was unchanged from $5,220 in 2017-18.

About 99 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Texas residents. And about 1 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 64 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 89 students received grants or scholarships totaling $465,890.

Including all undergraduates (11,729), 5,780 students used grants or scholarships totaling $1.9 million, and 1,181 students took out $7.5 million in federal student loans.
