Dallas-based Door, a residential home sales company, is stepping away from its plans to push out into the national market after funding recently fell through.
Door CEO Alex Doubet acknowledged layoffs in an email to The Dallas Morning News, but said the layoffs were individuals who had been working toward the expected national expansion.
“... We are focused on Texas for the foreseeable future, rather than national expansion as we had been,” he said.
Real estate agents in northern Texas sold more-than-108,000 single-family homes last year, according to The Dallas Morning News.
Door was started in 2016 in North Texas, with a business model of flat-fee real estate brokerage service in the local area.
While the national expansion has been put on hold, Doubet said the company intends to continue expanding locally.
