SMU Women’s Tennis announced on May 20 the signing of transfer Brooklyn Olson to its roster for the 2026-27 season.
The addition of Olson is significant as she brings experience from her two seasons at Ole Miss, where she played primarily in the No. 3 spot in both singles and doubles. The Kansas City, Kansas native was previously a blue-chip recruit and posted a singles record of 17-17 and a doubles record of 27-26 during her time with the Rebels. Her current Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) stands at 9.86.
Head coach Kelcy McKenna, in her first year leading SMU, guided the Mustangs to an NCAA Championships bid this past season. The team won its opening match against Wichita State in the Norman Regional and finished with an overall record of 16-8, including a 7-5 mark in Atlantic Coast Conference play. The Mustangs also reached No. 23 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings—their highest ranking since 2011.
Olson’s arrival comes as SMU looks to build on recent successes under McKenna’s leadership and continue improving its national standing.
The program aims to further strengthen its lineup with experienced transfers like Olson as it prepares for future competition.
