SMU Women’s Tennis achieved its fourth straight victory on March 29, sweeping South Florida at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex in Dallas.

The Mustangs improved their season record to 14-5 with only two regular season matches remaining before the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament begins on April 14. This latest result marks SMU’s third sweep in its last four matches.

In doubles play, SMU secured its 16th doubles point of the season by winning on courts two and three. The pairings won their respective matches with identical scores of 6-2. On court one, SMU’s No. 10-ranked duo was leading 5-4 when play was halted.

During singles competition, SMU claimed first-set victories on four out of six courts. One Mustang player opened singles with a dominant 6-1, 6-1 win over Loana Vargas from South Florida. Comiskey earned her eleventh spring win and extended her personal streak to five consecutive victories. On courts one and two, Van Impe defeated Melisa Senli (6-3, 6-1), while Llewellyn clinched the match against Sienna Leeson (6-2, 6-2). Llewellyn now leads the team with twelve dual match wins this spring and has accumulated twenty-four combined doubles and singles dual wins during her sophomore campaign.

The Mustangs will return to ACC action for their final weekend of regular season play on April 10 with a home match against Cal scheduled for a 5 p.m. Central Time start.
